Surrender

All surrenders must be approved and scheduled by PALS staff. Dropping an animal off at a shelter without prior approval is illegal. There is a $55 fee to surrender a cat or dog. We do not accept any other types of animals.

To request to surrender a cat or dog, please fill out the surrender application below. If you are not absolutely sure that surrendering your pet is your best option, we recommend that you review our list of resources for pet owners in need of assistance, and contact us via phone or email to discuss your options. Sometimes we have advice or tips that help keep families and their beloved animal together.

Please note that we are a small shelter with limited space and resources, so we cannot always accommodate surrender requests. We are also a no-kill shelter, so we never euthanize animals to make room for more. If we cannot immediately assist you, we offer a waiting list and other sources to provide help until we have space.
